What?
The brain – about 1.5 kgs of tissue, fat and fluids that controls us, shapes our impression of the world around us and of the world inside us. It’s therefore also the home of bias, blindspots and emotions. These aspects also help shape our expectations, assumptions and beliefs about safety in our systems of individuals, technology and organizational structure.
In order to better understand how we can harness the research done on the brain about these matters in a more practical approach, SÄKU was happy to welcome Mark Vollmer for a webinar based around this!
On the topic of biases and blindspots, Mark helped us understand how individuals form bias and unconscious bias, and how blind spots impact our performance as well as people around us. This in order to better understand what happens, why things happens, and how to recognise, control and manage ourselves.
With emotional intelligence, Mark helped to clarify what emotions really are and why we have them. From there we looked at how we can manage our reactions to situations and how we can help other people regain their control after they are caught off guard.
As always, the audience got the chance to discuss and ask Mark their questions.
